Our Freelancers – The Secret Weapons Behind the Köhler Auctions
Although we continue to grow, our auctions would be unimaginable without the help and energetic support of numerous freelance team members. And even in our day-to-day operations, extra hands are always welcome.
There is hardly a customer who does not know Helmut Herbig, as he has been with Heinrich Köhler longer than most of our colleagues. Especially during viewings, Helmut Herbig is the one who keeps everything firmly under control.
Klaus Camphausen will also be a familiar name to many. Whether viewing, shipping, technical assistance, or a spontaneous assignment in the auction room — Klaus Camphausen is the right man for the job.
Many customers know our all-rounder Claudia Dörrbecker from the viewing sessions. What most people probably do not know is that she takes countless photos for the online catalogue in the run-up to each auction and transmits the live auction proceedings to Philasearch during the sale.
Guntram Zilles, our man for the heavy lifting, is always ready to roll up his sleeves. Not only does he collect consignments and assist during viewings — he also handles the transport of large collections to international fairs for exhibition.
Whenever an extra pair of hands is needed, Carmen Grahn, Stephanie Armbrust, and Sisilia Klein step in and take on parts of the daily workload. Over the past months, for example, Carmen Grahn and Stephanie Armbrust have welcomed many customers by phone and in person, while Sisilia Klein has been an invaluable support in the accounting department.
These are, of course, only a few of the many freelance team members who have supported the Köhler auctions for many years. Through their work during the viewings, Ulrich Böhmer, Heinrich Hannappel, Michael Maeding, and Mehmet Yildirim are also well known to many clients. Jutta Eckert and Elke Siegmann-Schäfer carefully monitor the auctions to ensure that each lot is awarded to the correct bidder at the correct price. And for many auctions now, Marie Dörrbecker, Apollonia Gabel, Laeticia Neumann, Mia Michelson, and Sam Michelson have been on hand again and again — whether for the live online broadcast, viewing sessions, shipping of lots, or simply wherever help is needed.
Even during the major company relocation at the end of 2019, many freelance team members pitched in, packing, carrying, and unpacking countless boxes. Only with their help were we able to master this Herculean task so smoothly and efficiently.
