Philatelic Library Heinrich Köhler: Knowledge Creates Connoisseurs and Experts

Since 2008, the Heinrich Köhler auction house has supported the Philatelic Library in Frankfurt am Main. Credit where credit is due – the Philatelic Library Frankfurt is run on a voluntary basis by the Frankfurt Stamp Collectors’ Association.

We are proud that it now bears the name “PHILA Library Heinrich Köhler – Verein für Briefmarkenkunde 1878 Frankfurt am Main.” In addition to on-site research, it also offers the option of remote lending.

Incidentally, the history of philatelic specialist literature is only slightly younger than that of the postage stamp itself. The fact is: publications by dedicated and knowledgeable philatelists have, for more than 160 years, provided exceptionally instructive expert studies and, in many cases, have even grown into lasting documentations of philatelic life’s work.
